Come along, saints, no toil or labor fear!
Come along, saints, no toil or labor fear!
We are delighted in your interest to join us as we Trek to the Temple.
On Saturday morning, May 17, 2025, we will gather at the chapel at 535 S. Rio Vista
Street, Anaheim. We will participate in a short devotional and then pack up with water and
supplies before we head out.
There are four options for getting to the temple:
1. Walk- the distance is almost 7 miles, and the estimated time to get to the temple
is 2.5 hours. A portion will be along a bike/pedestrian trail. Just be aware that
even on the path, cyclists travel fast, so children will need to be carefully
watched. Please be prudent and prepared to walk this far! We will have a check-in
spots approximately every mile for replenishing water and snack supplies.
2. Run- for our speedy friends, this may be your option. Estimated time depends on
your speed, but if you are comfortable running 7 miles, we are confident you
already know how long it will take you!
3. Bike- Part of your ride will be on the bike trail. Most will be on side streets. There
will be two checkpoints for our cyclists.
4. Drive- This will take about 20 minutes. Since parking is limited at the temple
grounds, we have permission from the nearby Baptist Church to use their parking
lot. As the temple area is small, you will need to stagger your time at the visitor’s
area. After you enjoy the presentation, you may walk along the trail at the end of
Osmond Street to Hurless Barton Park or drive there. It is about 1 mile along the
trail, with some fun animals to see along the way. Please remember that we have
been asked to NOT part on Osmond street.
5. *Important* Unless you desire to walk, run, or cycle back to the Rio Vista
building, please have a designated driver to get you back home from the park!
At Hurless Barton Park, there will be games to enjoy, along with a fun park to explore.
Lunch will be served at 11:00, and clean up will be at noon.
More information will be posted, along with the maps, as we get closer to May.
It’s time to start preparing, not just physically but also spiritually, as the opening of the
Yorba Linda Temple nears. We look forward to working toward this goal together!
